Adds PCI expansion slots to an HP ProLiant DL320 G3 server with this riser board assembly
This HP 305442-001 riser board assembly adds PCI expansion slots to the ProLiant DL320 G3 server. It is designed for administrators who need to install additional add-on cards in that specific 1U chassis. The board connects directly to the system board to provide the required slot orientation.
This part replaces a failed or missing original riser board in the DL320 G3. The upgrade is worth it when the server requires more PCI cards than the base configuration allows. It restores the factory expansion capability without modifying the server chassis or mainboard.
The riser uses the standard PCI interface, which limits throughput compared to newer PCI Express standards. It is mechanically and electrically keyed only for the ProLiant DL320 G3 and will not fit other servers. Buyers needing PCIe slots or compatibility with different generation hardware cannot use this assembly.

Yes, the 305442-001 is designed specifically for the HP ProLiant DL320 G3 server and mounts directly into its dedicated riser slot.
Power down the server, open the chassis, align the riser card with the motherboard connector, press firmly until seated, then secure the retention bracket — skipping the bracket screws leaves the card loose.
The riser board is a passive circuit board with no moving parts, fans, or batteries, so it requires no scheduled maintenance or component replacement.
