HP 409513-B21 4GB Virtual Connect Fiber Channel Module

BladeSystem SAN interconnect

The HP 4GB Virtual Connect Fibre Channel Module is a switch module designed for the c-Class BladeSystem enclosure. It provides a direct connection to storage area network fabrics for blade servers. The module simplifies server connectivity by separating the enclosure from the SAN infrastructure. It is intended for administrators managing Fibre Channel environments.

Reduces cables and switch count

The module installs into the BladeSystem interconnect bays to link blade servers with external SAN fabrics. It eliminates the need for additional switches within the management domain. This design reduces cable complexity inside the rack. Server changes can be completed in minutes because the enclosure remains decoupled from the SAN configuration.

4GB Fibre Channel capacity

The module operates at 4GB Fibre Channel speed for storage traffic. It handles connections for blade servers accessing shared storage resources. Bandwidth is limited to the 4GB interface specification. Environments requiring higher throughput or different protocols will need alternative interconnect modules.
