4GB DDR3 1066 ECC registered DIMM for HP ProLiant G6 servers including BL460c, DL160, DL380 and ML150
This HP 500660-B21 module adds 4GB of DDR3 1066 memory to compatible ProLiant G6 servers including the BL460c, DL160, DL380 and ML150. It is built for administrators who need ECC registered reliability in existing infrastructure rather than new builds.
Registered buffering and ECC correction maintain data integrity during continuous operation in multi-socket ProLiant systems. The CL7 latency at PC3 8500 speed supports consistent throughput for virtualization and database tasks without the errors that crash unbuffered modules under load.
The 240-pin DIMM fits straight into approved G6 server slots with no adapter or firmware step required. Buyers who need higher densities, different speeds or non-HP platforms cannot use this part and must select alternative memory matched to their specific hardware.

Registered DDR3 DIMMs draw slightly more power than unbuffered types because of the onboard register, but the CL7 latency at 1066 MHz keeps voltage at the standard DDR3 level so thermal impact inside a ProLiant chassis is minimal.
The host must be a ProLiant G6 series such as a BL460c, DL160, DL380 or ML150 with free DDR3 DIMM slots that support registered ECC memory and the correct population order for quad-rank modules.
The memory controller will down-clock all populated channels to the slowest installed speed and tightest common timings, so mixing with slower DDR3 is possible but total bandwidth drops to the lowest common denominator.
