HP 600 GB 2.5" 10000 rpm SAS laptop internal hard drive

600 GB 2.5" SAS internal drive

This HP 600 GB 2.5" 10000 rpm SAS laptop internal hard drive is a new hot-plug component built for storage systems that accept a 6 Gb/s SAS connection. The small-form-factor design fits 2.5-inch bays and delivers 600 GB of capacity on a 10000 rpm spindle. It is supplied in retail or OEM packaging that may vary.

Suited for SAS hot-plug bays

The drive suits administrators who need a 6 Gb/s SAS hot-plug disk for a compatible storage array or server bay. Buyers whose systems only accept a different interface or cannot use hot-plug devices should look at a different part. The RoHS certification confirms compliance with restricted-substance rules.

6 Gb/s SAS interface requirement

The single specification that decides fit is the 6 Gb/s SAS interface; the host must provide a SAS backplane or controller that supports this standard. Without a matching SAS connection the drive cannot operate, regardless of its 2.5-inch width or 10000 rpm speed.
