HP 450GB 10000RPM SAS Enterprise Drive

This 2.5 inch SAS hard drive delivers 450GB of storage at 10000RPM for HP ProLiant servers. It supports hot plug and hot swap installation in compatible bays. The drive uses a 6G SAS interface and meets RoHS compliance standards.

Suits HP ProLiant server upgrades needing 450GB

Buyers needing larger capacities or different form factors should look elsewhere. This drive is not intended for desktop PCs or consumer laptops. Systems without SAS backplane support cannot use this drive.

450GB capacity at 10000RPM over 6G SAS

The 450GB capacity and 10000RPM spindle speed define the performance envelope for transactional workloads. The 6G SAS interface determines controller and backplane compatibility. Verify your ProLiant model accepts 2.5 inch SFF SAS drives before purchase.

Questions about this item

Does the SAS interface on this 450GB drive cap at 6Gb/s?

The drive uses a SAS 6G interface, so its maximum transfer rate is 6Gb/s.

Will the 2.5-inch form factor fit a standard ProLiant SFF bay?

Yes, the 2.5-inch SFF design matches the ProLiant small-form-factor drive bays.

How is the hot-plug tray installed, and what step is often missed?

Slide the drive into the tray until it clicks, then insert the assembly into the bay until the latch locks; forgetting to engage the latch is the common error.
