HP 230 W 19.5 V AC Adapter

This HP 693714-001 adapter delivers 230 W at 19.5 V for compatible EliteBook mobile workstations. It suits owners of the 8740W 8760W 8770W 8540W or 8560W models who need a replacement or spare power supply. The unit is supplied new and matches the original OEM specification.

7.4 mm 5.0 mm Barrel Connector Constraint

The barrel connector measures 7.4 mm outer diameter and 5.0 mm inner diameter, so it fits only laptops that accept this exact size. The fixed 230 W output cannot be negotiated down for lower-power devices that use a different tip. Buyers who need a different connector size or a lower-wattage brick must look elsewhere.

OEM Build Quality and Daily Use

The adapter is an HP OEM new unit built to the manufacturer's original production standards. Its fixed cable and moulded strain relief are designed for repeated connection cycles on the listed EliteBook models. The 230 W rating supports full system performance and battery charging under load without overheating.

Questions about this item

Which EliteBook models does the 7.4 mm × 5.0 mm connector fit?

The 7.4 mm × 5.0 mm barrel connector fits EliteBook 8740W, 8760W, 8770W, 8540W and 8560W models.

What does the 230 W rating mean when the adapter is connected to my laptop?

230 W is the maximum continuous power the adapter can deliver at 19.5 V, so it can run a high-performance EliteBook and charge its battery at the same time.

Does the 19.5 V output follow a specific power standard that limits what I can plug in?

The adapter supplies a fixed 19.5 V DC output through its proprietary 7.4 mm × 5.0 mm barrel connector, so it only works with laptops that expect that exact voltage and connector.
