Questions about this item

Does my laptop need an M.2 slot to install the 7265NGW adapter?

Yes, the 7265NGW is an M.2 form-factor card and requires a compatible M.2 slot with the correct keying on the motherboard.

Will the 793839-001 card work in an older laptop that only has a mini PCIe slot?

No, the 793839-001 uses the M.2 interface which is physically and electrically different from mini PCIe, so it will not fit or function in that older slot.
