HP 800 G2 tower desktop for everyday work

The HP 800 G2 tower desktop pairs an Intel Core i7-6700 processor with 8GB DDR4 memory, a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and includes a wireless keyboard and mouse. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 handles display output through DisplayPort. The tower chassis provides internal space for future upgrades.

Sustained load behaviour of the i7-6700

The Intel Core i7-6700 runs at a 3.40GHz base frequency and can reach a 4.00GHz turbo frequency under load. Its 8MB cache helps maintain throughput during extended multitasking sessions. The DDR4 memory and dual-drive layout keep the system responsive when several applications run together for long periods. Thermal headroom in the tower form factor supports consistent clock speeds.

Upgrade path from older office PCs

This configuration replaces ageing desktops that rely on mechanical drives alone or have less than 8GB of memory. The SSD delivers faster boot and application launch, while the 1TB HDD adds bulk storage for archives. Buyers who need discrete graphics for 3D work, additional drive bays beyond the current layout, or newer CPU instruction sets should consider other platforms.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the Intel Core i7-6700 with 8 MB cache produce when the 800 G2 runs all day?

The i7-6700 operates at a 3.40 GHz base frequency and can reach 4.00 GHz turbo. Under sustained load the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 shares the same thermal envelope, so the tower’s internal airflow handles the combined heat without additional cooling steps.

What existing peripherals must I already own for the 800 G2 to be usable out of the box?

A display with a DisplayPort input is required because the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 provides video only through that connector. The wireless keyboard and mouse are included, and Wi-Fi is built in, so no separate network adapter is needed.

Will my current DisplayPort monitor work with the Intel HD Graphics 530 in this tower?

Yes. The Intel HD Graphics 530 drives a DisplayPort display at standard resolutions, so an existing DP monitor connects directly without adapters or extra cables.
