Product Identity

The HP AK860C is a 48-port 8Gb/s director blade designed for the SN8000B SAN director. It functions as a plug-in module that expands fibre channel connectivity within a StorageWorks DC SAN backbone director power pack switch.

Port Configuration

This blade provides 48 ports, each operating at 8Gb/s fibre channel speed and accepting SFP transceivers. The density allows a single module to serve a large number of host or storage connections without consuming additional director slots.

Sustained Operation

As a hot-pluggable component within a redundant director chassis, the blade is built for continuous operation in enterprise storage networks. It relies on the director's shared cooling and power infrastructure to maintain stable throughput during prolonged, heavy I/O workloads.
