Internal PCI Express adapter adds Wi-Fi 802.11n 300 Mbit/s and Bluetooth 4.0 to a notebook
The HP AR9462 combines 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 4.0 in a single M.2 card. It connects through a PCI Express host interface and fits internal notebook slots. The white module measures 1.2 inches wide by 1.1 inches deep by .2 inches high. It is supplied new under part number 676786-001.
This adapter serves notebooks that require both 2.48 GHz and 5 GHz band support plus Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. Builders working on desktops without an M.2 keyed slot should look elsewhere. Systems limited to single-band 2.4 GHz operation will not use the 5 GHz capability. Devices lacking a PCI Express interface cannot install this card.
The link tops out at 300 Mbit/s under the IEEE 802.11 n standard. That rate determines whether the card meets the throughput needs of a given notebook upgrade. Check the target system’s antenna configuration and driver support to confirm the rate is achievable.

The card is supplied as the internal module only; antenna cables and a mounting screw must be sourced from the notebook or purchased separately.
Select the AR5B22 676786-001 when your service manual lists that exact part number; other HP combo cards use different part numbers and may not fit.
The 300 Mbit/s figure is the maximum PHY rate under IEEE 802.11n; real-world throughput will be lower due to overhead, distance and interference.
