Network-ready colour laser for workgroups

The HP Color LaserJet CP-4525N delivers colour and monochrome output at up to 42 pages per minute. Its 1200 x 1200 dpi engine uses HP ImageREt 3600 enhancement for crisp text and graphics. An 800 MHz processor handles PCL 5, PCL 6, PostScript 3 and PDF 1.4 jobs without a host PC. Ethernet 10/100/1000 and USB interfaces let the printer sit anywhere on the LAN.

Enterprise build with high paper capacity

A 600-sheet input tray reduces reload frequency during long print runs. The chassis has been fully cleaned inside and out; worn rollers, separation pads, transfer roller, fuser film and pressure roller are replaced before testing. Cosmetic discoloration may remain on the outer panels. Power and network cables are included; toner cartridges are not supplied.

Replaces slower single-function colour printers

Offices moving from 20 to 30 ppm devices gain a noticeable throughput jump without adding floor space. The upgrade is worthwhile when monthly volumes exceed the capacity of smaller desktop units. Buyers who need integrated scanning, fax or wireless direct printing should consider a multifunction alternative.

Questions about this item

What Ethernet speeds does the 10/100/1000Base-T port support?

The built-in Ethernet interface handles 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps links, so the 42 ppm colour engine is never held back by the network connection.

What clearance does the 600-sheet input tray need?

The printer uses a front-loading cassette that pulls out completely, so allow at least the depth of the tray in front of the unit for paper loading and jam access.

How is the printer installed on the network, and what step is often missed?

Connect the supplied Ethernet cable, power on, then download the PCL 6 or PostScript 3 driver from the manufacturer site; the step many skip is setting a static IP or DHCP reservation so the print queue stays reachable.
