HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M553N

The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M553N is a network-ready colour laser printer rated at 40 ppm for both black and colour output. Shared office use, not photo or mobile printing

This printer suits workgroups that need fast, high-volume colour documents over a wired Ethernet connection. It does not support Wi-Fi or direct mobile printing protocols, so teams requiring wireless flexibility or borderless photo output should consider other models.

Ethernet integration with toner included

The unit connects via a standard RJ-45 Ethernet port and also offers USB 2.0 for local attachment. It handles media from 3 x 5 in up to 8.5 x 14 in. The included generic toner set delivers approximately 5000 pages per colour, letting you start printing immediately without sourcing supplies separately.

Questions about this item

Does the Ethernet RJ-45 port need a router or switch to join my network?

Yes, connect the supplied network cable from the printer's Ethernet port to a router or switch so the device can obtain an IP address and be discovered by computers on the LAN.

Can I still print from a Windows 7 PC over the same Ethernet connection?

The printer supports standard network printing protocols, so a Windows 7 machine with the correct driver installed can send jobs to the M553N over the LAN.

How do I confirm the 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution is active after installing the toner bundle?

Print the built-in configuration page from the 4-line LCD menu; it lists the current print resolution and verifies that all four toner cartridges are recognised.
