Enterprise Color Laser Printer

The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M553N is a network-ready color laser printer built for office workgroups. It prints up to 40 ppm in both black and color at 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution. The unit includes a 4-line dimmable color LCD and supports paper sizes from 3 x 5 in up to 8.5 x 14 in. First page out time is 6 seconds.

Workgroups needing Ethernet-only networking

This printer suits teams that connect via wired Ethernet and USB 2.0 only. Buyers who need Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity should look at other models. The 650-sheet input capacity fits moderate daily volumes but not high-volume production environments. It ships without toner cartridges installed.

650-sheet paper capacity decides fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 650-sheet maximum paper input. Offices that regularly load more than 650 sheets between refills will need a different device. For workgroups staying within that limit, the Ethernet and USB 2.0 interfaces provide reliable network printing.

Questions about this item

How many pages can the 650-sheet input tray hold before it needs refilling during a long print run?

The standard cassette holds 650 sheets, so you can print up to that many pages continuously before adding more paper.

What noise level or heat output should I expect when the printer runs at 40 ppm all day?

The printer uses a new maintenance kit with fuser and rollers, keeping operating temperature and acoustic levels within the original enterprise specifications for sustained 40 ppm output.

Which cables or network gear must I already have to connect this printer via Ethernet?

You need a standard RJ-45 Ethernet cable and a network switch or router with an available port; the printer also includes a USB 2.0 port for direct connection.
