Product identity

The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP M480f is a refurbished multifunction laser printer built for small workgroups and SMB environments. It prints up to 29 ppm in both monochrome and colour at 600 x 600 dpi and produces a first page in 9.3 seconds. The unit also scans, copies and faxes with colour fax support.

Setup checks

Verify that your network or USB infrastructure can accommodate a device weighing 51.2000 lb and that the 8.5 x 11.7 in scan platen suits your document sizes. Confirm driver availability for your operating system from the supported list including Windows 7 through 11, macOS 10.12 to 10.15, Android and iOS. Ensure you accept dynamic security that blocks cartridges without a new or reused HP chip.

Bundled impact

The certified refurbished process includes mechanical and electrical stress testing, full software reinstallation, sanitisation and packaging in a new box with the same supplies as a new unit. This restores the printer to functional parity with new models and provides a same-as-new limited warranty, while cosmetic blemishes may remain.

Questions about this item

Does the box contain toner cartridges or must they be ordered separately?

The unit ships in new packaging with the same supplies as a new printer, so starter toner cartridges are included.

How do I decide between the listed print speeds of 28 ppm and 29 ppm?

The manufacturer highlights 28 ppm as the rated speed, while the specification table shows up to 29 ppm; both refer to the same engine under slightly different test conditions.

What does the 9.3-second first-page time mean for everyday printing?

It is the measured delay from sending a job to the first sheet exiting, so short documents start appearing in under ten seconds.
