Multifunction colour laser printer

The HP Color LaserJet Pro M477FDW prints, copies, scans and faxes in full colour at up to 28 pages per minute. A 300-sheet input tray supports longer runs without reloading. Ethernet connectivity lets workgroups share the device across a wired network. It suits small offices that need reliable colour output and duplex printing in one compact unit.

Thermals and power in daily use

Laser printing generates heat only while the fuser is active, so the machine stays quiet between jobs. Power draw scales with page volume rather than running continuously at peak. The 600 x 600 dpi engine delivers consistent quality without extended warm-up cycles that increase energy use. Normal office workloads keep the unit well within its thermal design limits.

Build quality and connectivity implications

Replaced rollers, separation pads, transfer roller, fuser film and pressure roller reduce the chance of paper jams during high-volume sessions. Cosmetic discoloration may be present on the exterior but does not affect mechanical reliability. The RJ-45 port provides a stable wired link without relying on wireless signals. Buyers who need toner included or a longer warranty period should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the CF379A to my network for the first time?

Plug an Ethernet cable into the RJ-45 port, power on the printer, then run the HP setup utility or use the control panel to assign an IP address.

Which consumables will need replacement after high-volume printing?

The toner cartridges, transfer roller, fuser film and pressure roller are the main items that wear out; pickup and separation rollers may also need changing later.

What throughput limit appears first during long print runs?

The 28 ppm engine speed and 300-sheet input tray capacity are the first constraints you will hit during sustained output.
