Wireless multifunction colour laser

The HP Color LaserJet Pro M477fnw is a wireless colour multifunction laser printer built for small offices and workgroups that need print, copy, scan and fax in one device. It produces colour and monochrome output at up to 28 pages per minute with a 600 x 600 dpi resolution. A 50-sheet automatic document feeder handles multi-page jobs without manual intervention.

Connectivity and interface

The printer includes Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet and three USB 2.0 ports for direct printing from flash drives or local PC connection. An 8.0 inch colour touchscreen provides walk-up control of all functions. These interfaces let multiple users share the device across a network without extra cabling.

Paper capacity and throughput

Two trays hold a combined 350 sheets, giving enough capacity for daily departmental volumes before a reload is needed. The 50-sheet ADF and 28 ppm engine keep multi-page copy and scan jobs moving steadily. High-volume environments that regularly exceed 350 sheets between refills or need faster than 28 ppm output will find the capacity and speed limiting.

Questions about this item

How often will the toner cartridges need replacing on the M477fnw?

Toner life depends on page coverage; the printer ships with standard-capacity cartridges and high-yield options are available separately.

Which component limits continuous printing at 28 ppm on the M477fnw?

The 350-sheet input tray will need refilling before the engine reaches its duty-cycle ceiling during long runs.

How loud and hot does the M477fnw get when running all day?

The printer meets typical office acoustics for a 28 ppm colour laser; the fuser warms to normal operating temperature but stays within HP's specified limits.
