A 1200-Watt plug-in module for redundant power in ProLiant DL360, DL380 and SL170Z G6 servers
This HP DPS-1200FB-1 A is a 1200-Watt high-efficiency switching AC power supply designed as a plug-in module for server redundancy. It fits ProLiant DL360, DL380 and SL170Z G6 servers and weighs 2.0 pound. The unit carries part numbers 578322-B21, 579229-001 and 570451-001.
Administrators maintaining ProLiant G6 racks who require hot-swap redundant power will use this module to keep systems running during a supply failure. It is not suitable for builders needing a standalone ATX power supply for workstations or custom chassis. Buyers without a compatible ProLiant backplane cannot install or operate this module.
The 1200-Watt output comfortably handles dual-processor ProLiant DL360, DL380 or SL170Z G6 configurations with multiple drives and expansion cards. Headroom diminishes when every drive bay and PCIe slot is populated with high-draw components. Additional modules are required for N+1 redundancy beyond a single unit.

The supply fits HP ProLiant DL360 G6, DL380 G6 and SL170Z G6 chassis that have a redundant power-supply bay.
Redundant operation requires matching wattage; mixing a 1200-Watt module with a lower-rated unit is not supported.
The front-panel LED on the supply lights green when AC is present and the unit is outputting voltage to the backplane.
