460-watt server power supply compatible with HP DL380 G6 and G7 systems
The HP DPS-460FB is a 460W 12V switching power supply built for HP DL380 G6 and G7 rack servers. It fits the common slot form factor used across these platforms and carries part numbers 599381-001, 591553-001 and 593188-B21. Administrators maintaining existing G6 or G7 infrastructure will find it a direct replacement for failed or ageing units.
This supply replaces the original 460W module shipped with DL380 G6 and G7 servers. The jump is worth it when an existing unit shows fan noise, voltage drift or complete failure, or when a spare is needed for cold-standby redundancy. It is not for builders needing higher wattage, different form factors or support for newer server generations.
At 460W the unit comfortably handles typical dual-socket configurations with standard memory and storage complements in G6 and G7 chassis. Headroom narrows with high-TDP processors, large drive counts or multiple GPU accelerators. It is not for deployments that exceed the 460W rating or require redundant hot-swap frames beyond the native server design.

The unit is listed for HP ProLiant DL380 G6 and G7 servers and matches part numbers 599381-001, 591553-001 and 593188-B21.
Slide the unit into the hot-plug bay until the latch clicks, then secure the retention lever; the common error is leaving the lever unlatched.
Clean the fan intake when dust builds up, typically every 12 months; replace the supply if it fails to power on or shows output errors.
