EliteBook 1040-G3 Refurbished Business Ultrabook

This refurbished HP EliteBook 1040-G3 is a 14.0-inch ultrabook built for mobile professionals who need a lightweight Windows 10 Pro machine. It pairs a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U processor with 16GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. The QHD non-touch display and Intel HD Graphics 520 handle everyday business applications and light creative work.

3-Cell Battery and Integrated Graphics

The 3-cell battery and integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 using shared system memory keep the chassis thin at 0.62 inches and light at 3.15 lbs, freeing bag space for chargers or documents. Wired LAN at 10/100/1000Mbps, 802.11b/g/n wireless and Bluetooth connect to office networks and peripherals without extra dongles. A built-in webcam supports video calls on the go.

Skylake Dual-Core Sustains Turbo Under Load

The Skylake-based i7-6600U with 4MB L3 cache can reach 3.4GHz turbo frequency, sustaining higher clocks during extended spreadsheet, coding or browsing sessions thanks to the ultrabook thermal design. Shared video memory means graphics workloads draw from the 16GB system pool, so heavy multitasking may reduce headroom for GPU tasks. Buyers who want discrete graphics or larger storage capacity should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

What is the maximum turbo frequency of the Intel Core i7-6600U before thermal limits throttle it?

The Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor reaches a maximum turbo frequency of 3.4GHz, though sustained workloads will trigger thermal throttling within the ultrabook chassis.

How loud does the cooling fan get and how hot does the aluminium chassis feel during all-day use?

The 3-cell battery and integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 keep heat output moderate, but the thin .62-inch profile means the fan becomes audible and the base warms noticeably under continuous load.

Which ports and cables do I need to connect an external monitor to the 14.0-inch QHD non-touch display?

The EliteBook 1040-G3 provides standard video outputs for external displays; check the specific unit for HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C video capability before purchasing a cable.
