14-inch WUXGA business laptop

The HP EliteBook 6 G1a is a 14.0-inch business laptop with a 1920 x 1200 IPS display. It runs on an AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 350 eight-core processor with 16 MB L3 cache and a 5 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 32 GB DDR5 memory and a 4 TB NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Upgrade from smaller storage or older processor

This configuration replaces laptops limited to 1 TB or 2 TB drives and earlier Ryzen PRO chips without the integrated NPU. The jump is worth it when local AI workloads, large datasets or heavy multitasking demand 32 GB DDR5 and 4 TB NVMe capacity. Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1 simplify multi-monitor docking.

Verify port and network needs

Confirm that Thunderbolt 4 accessories and DisplayPort 2.1 monitors match the two USB-C ports. Check that Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) and Bluetooth 5.4 align with your wireless infrastructure. Ensure the single HDMI 2.1 and RJ45 Gigabit LAN ports cover external display and wired network requirements.

Questions about this item

What size and type of SSD slot does the 4 TB drive use?

The 4 TB drive is an NVMe SSD installed in the single M.2 slot; the laptop has no 2.5-inch bay, so any future storage upgrade must be another M.2 NVMe module.

Which screw or latch secures the bottom cover for RAM access?

The 32 GB of DDR5 memory is soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded; there is no user-accessible RAM slot, so no cover removal is required for memory.

When should the 5 MP IR webcam privacy shutter be cleaned?

Wipe the shutter and lens with a dry microfibre cloth whenever the Windows Hello face recognition becomes inconsistent or the Sure View privacy layer shows smudges.
