Questions about this item

What practical throughput limit does the NVMe PCIe interface impose on the 2TB SSD?

The NVMe PCIe interface supports the full sequential speed of the 2TB SSD without bottlenecking the Intel Core i7-6600U platform.

What physical slot and form factor does the 2TB drive use inside the EliteBook 840 G3?

The 2TB drive occupies the single M.2 slot as an M.2 2280 NVMe module; no 2.5-inch bay is present.

How is the operating system installed on a unit that ships with no OS, and what step is commonly missed?

Create bootable installation media, boot from it, and install the OS; the step often missed is loading the NVMe storage driver so the 2TB drive appears during setup.
