Built for Business Mobility

The HP EliteBook 840 G3 is a 14-inch laptop with a 1366 x 768 HD display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-6300U dual-core processor reaching 3.00 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. No operating system is installed.

Suits Office Workers and Students

This configuration suits users who need a lightweight machine for document editing, web browsing and video calls with the integrated webcam. Buyers who want a touchscreen or higher resolution display should look elsewhere. Gamers or creators needing discrete graphics will find the Intel HD Graphics 520 insufficient.

Memory and Storage Headroom

The 16GB DDR3 handles multitasking across browser tabs and office applications comfortably. Two memory slots allow expansion up to 32 GB total if workloads grow. The 1TB NVMe SSD provides fast boot times and ample space for large project files and media libraries.

Questions about this item

What operating system must I supply myself before the EliteBook 840 G3 will boot?

The laptop ships with no operating system, so you must acquire and install Windows or another OS of your choice before it can start up.

Can I keep using my existing DDR3 SO-DIMM modules alongside the 16 GB already installed?

Yes, the system has two DDR3 slots and supports up to 32 GB total, so compatible modules you already own can be added to the factory 16 GB.

How do I verify the 1 TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD is detected and running at full speed after setup?

Open the BIOS or your OS disk utility and confirm the drive appears as a 1 TB NVMe device with PCIe link active.
