Ready-to-use business laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G3 ships with Windows 10 Pro installed and a 14.0" FHD LED display. An Intel Core i5-6300U running at 2.4 GHz with dual cores and 3 MB L3 cache handles everyday office workloads. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 uses shared system memory for video output. A 128 GB SATA SSD and 16 GB DDR3 memory complete the baseline configuration.

Suits mobile professionals needing legacy ports

VGA, full-size DisplayPort and Gigabit RJ-45 let you connect to older projectors and wired networks without adapters. USB 3.1 Type-C and two USB 3.0 ports cover modern peripherals. Buyers who want more storage capacity or a touchscreen should look elsewhere. The non-touch panel and fixed 128 GB drive limit flexibility for media-heavy users.

128 GB SATA SSD defines upgrade path

The boot drive uses the SATA protocol in an M.2 form factor, so any replacement must also be a SATA SSD. Intel HD Graphics 520 relies on the 16 GB DDR3 pool, leaving less RAM for applications when driving external displays. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and activated for immediate deployment.
