Business ultraportable for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 840 G3 is a 14.0 inch laptop built around a dual-core Intel Core i5-6300U processor running at 2.4 GHz with 3 MB L3 cache. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the 1366 x 768 LED display. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

Step up from 8 GB or mechanical-drive systems

Moving from a machine limited to 8 GB of RAM or a spinning hard drive brings noticeable responsiveness in multitasking and boot times. The jump is worth it when daily work involves several browser tabs, office suites and video calls simultaneously. The 128 GB capacity suits users who keep most files in cloud storage or on a network share.

Steady output for typical office workloads

Under sustained load the U-series processor maintains clocks suitable for document editing, web apps and streaming without thermal throttling in normal ambient temperatures. Shared system memory for graphics means heavy 3D or video rendering is not practical. The chassis dissipates heat quietly during long meetings or batch processing tasks.
