Business-ready 14 inch notebook

The HP EliteBook 840 G3 is a 14.0 inch silver laptop built around an Intel Core i5-6300U dual-core processor running at 2.40 GHz with a 3.00 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB of DDR3 memory and a new 240GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. No operating system is installed, so the buyer provides their own Windows or Linux licence.

Suits mobile professionals needing legacy ports

This unit fits travelling staff who value a durable chassis, a physical webcam and Bluetooth for peripherals. The non-touch HD panel at 1366 x 768 keeps weight and cost down. Buyers who want a higher resolution display, a touchscreen, or a pre-loaded operating system should look elsewhere.

Dual memory slots allow 32 GB maximum

Two SODIMM slots are populated with 16GB today and support up to 32 GB total, giving a clear upgrade path for heavier multitasking. The SATA SSD bay accepts standard 2.5 inch drives for future capacity changes. This flexibility defines the platform's useful lifespan.

Questions about this item

Will the i5-6300U and 16GB DDR3 handle my existing USB 2.0 peripherals and external HDD?

Yes, the USB ports are backward compatible so your current devices will connect and function normally with the 2.40 GHz dual-core processor.

How do I verify the 14.0" HD display and Intel HD Graphics 520 are working after I install an OS?

Boot into the OS, confirm the native 1366 x 768 resolution is detected, and run a video or graphics benchmark to validate the GPU.

Does the package include a 2.5" SATA caddy or just the 240GB SSD already fitted?

The 240GB SSD comes pre-installed in the 2.5" SATA bay; no additional drive or caddy is included.
