HP EliteBook 840 G3 laptop 14" HD i5-6300U 16GB 2TB SSD No Operating System

HP EliteBook 840 G3 14-inch laptop for OS-free

This 14.0-inch HP EliteBook 840 G3 ships without an operating system, so IT teams or enthusiasts can load their preferred Windows or Linux image. It arrives with 16GB of DDR3 memory and a new 2TB SATA SSD already installed. The dual-core Intel Core i5-6300U runs at 2.40GHz with a 3.00GHz turbo frequency. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the 1366 x 768 HD non-touch display.

2TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD capacity decides fit

The single specification that determines whether this unit suits a given role is the 2TB 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drive. That capacity and form factor set the storage ceiling and the physical interface for any future upgrade. The board supports up to 32GB of DDR3 across two slots if more memory is required later.

Straightforward SSD and RAM access with OS

A bottom cover held by standard screws gives direct access to the 2.5-inch drive bay and both DDR3 SO-DIMM slots for quick swaps. The most common issue is forgetting that no operating system is pre-installed; the buyer must provide a bootable USB and complete the OS setup before the laptop is usable.
