Ready-to-deploy business laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G3 arrives with a 14.0-inch HD display, an Intel Core i5-6200U processor and 8GB of DDR3 memory. A new 1TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD is fitted and no operating system is installed, so IT teams can image the machine straight away. The silver chassis includes a webcam and Bluetooth for everyday office use.

Verify memory and OS plans

Confirm that 8GB of DDR3 across two slots meets your workload before ordering, because the board supports up to 32GB if an upgrade is needed. You must supply and install your own Windows or Linux licence, as the laptop ships without any operating system. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the 1366 x 768 panel without a discrete GPU option.

Replaces older SATA-based fleets

This unit upgrades fleets still running mechanical drives or smaller SSDs by delivering a fresh 1TB SATA drive and a 6th-generation dual-core CPU with a 2.80GHz turbo. The jump is worthwhile when you need a factory-new storage device and a clean software baseline on a familiar 14-inch form factor. Buyers who need a higher-resolution screen, discrete graphics or a pre-loaded OS should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop ship with a charger and is an operating system included?

The unit is sold without an operating system so you must supply your own Windows or Linux licence. A power adapter is included in the box.

Should I pick the 8 GB model or plan to upgrade to the 32 GB maximum?

The board has two DDR3 slots and supports up to 32 GB. The installed 8 GB is adequate for office work; add a second module later if you need more headroom.

How does the 2.30 GHz base and 2.80 GHz turbo translate to everyday responsiveness?

The dual-core i5-6200U with Intel HD Graphics 520 handles web browsing, document editing and video playback smoothly; heavier multi-threaded loads will hit the 2.80 GHz ceiling quickly.
