HP EliteBook 840 G3 portable workstation

This 14.0 inch laptop combines a dual-core Intel Core i5-6300U running at 2.4 GHz with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a 256GB SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Pro installed and targets professionals who need a reliable daily driver for office applications, web browsing and light content creation on the move.

Build integration and connectivity

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles the 1600 x 900 display without a discrete GPU, keeping the chassis thin and power draw modest. Wireless connectivity comes via 802.11a/b/g WLAN and Bluetooth 4.0, while the absence of an optical drive frees internal space for the solid-state storage and battery.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous workloads the U-series processor manages thermals within the ultrabook form factor, maintaining steady clocks for typical productivity tasks. The SSD ensures consistent read/write speeds during extended file operations, and the 8GB memory ceiling suits single-application focus rather than heavy multitasking or virtualisation.
