HP EliteBook 840 G3 business laptop

This 14.0-inch HP EliteBook 840 G3 is a business laptop running Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-6500U dual-core processor with a turbo frequency of 3.10 GHz. It comes equipped with 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 500GB SATA SSD. The 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display and integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 suit office productivity and mobile professionals.

Check memory slots and storage interface before

The system includes two memory slots supporting up to 32 GB total DDR3 capacity. Verify that your existing SO-DIMMs match the DDR3 type if you plan to expand. Storage uses a 2.5-inch SATA drive bay; confirm your spare drives use the same physical and electrical interface.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

The ultra-low-voltage i7-6500U and integrated HD Graphics 520 keep heat output modest during typical document and web workloads. Fan activity remains quiet in light use and spins up only under sustained multi-core load. The 500GB SATA SSD adds negligible thermal load compared with mechanical drives.

Questions about this item

Does the box include the laptop, power adapter and Windows 10 Pro licence, or must I buy any of those separately?

The laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit already installed and a 500 GB 2.5" SATA SSD fitted; a power adapter is included in the box so nothing extra is required to start working.

Should I choose the 16 GB DDR3 configuration or look for a 32 GB version for heavier workloads?

This unit comes with 16 GB DDR3 across two slots and the board supports up to 32 GB, so you can add another 16 GB module later if your tasks demand more memory.

How does the 2.50 GHz base clock and 3.10 GHz turbo of the Core i7-6500U feel in everyday office applications?

The dual-core processor runs at 2.50 GHz and can boost to 3.10 GHz, delivering smooth performance for typical business tasks such as document editing, web browsing and video calls.
