Business laptop with 32GB DDR3

The HP EliteBook 840 G3 is a 14.0" HD business laptop running Windows 10 Pro. It pairs a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U processor at 2.60 GHz with 32GB of DDR3 memory and a new 240GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. The 1366 x 768 non-touch display and Intel HD Graphics 520 handle everyday office workloads.

Suits mobile professionals needing maximum factory

This unit suits users who need the full 32GB DDR3 capacity supported by the platform for heavy multitasking and virtual machines. Buyers who want more storage than 240GB or a higher-resolution screen should look at other models. The integrated graphics also limit 3D and video-editing performance.

32GB DDR3 memory ceiling

The motherboard supports a maximum of 32GB across two slots, and this laptop already reaches that limit. No further RAM upgrades are possible, so the installed capacity is the final specification for the product's lifetime.

Questions about this item

How is the M.2 NVMe SSD installed and what step is often missed?

The 240GB M.2 NVMe PCIe drive slots into the internal M.2 connector and is secured with a single screw; the step often missed is enabling the NVMe boot option in the UEFI firmware after installation.

What maintenance or replacement will the memory need later?

The 32GB DDR3 configuration fills both memory slots and reaches the 32GB maximum supported, so no further memory upgrades are possible; only a full module replacement would change capacity.

What limit appears first during sustained heavy workloads?

The dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U with Intel HD Graphics 520 will hit thermal and power limits before the 240GB NVMe SSD or 32GB DDR3 memory become bottlenecks.
