HP EliteBook 840 G3 Business Laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G3 is a 14.0 inch business laptop equipped with an Intel Core i7-6600U processor reaching 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 32GB DDR3 memory and a new 500GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed on this silver chassis.

Suited For Mobile Professionals

This dual-core configuration handles office applications, web browsing and video conferencing for users who prioritise portability over raw graphics power. Buyers who need a dedicated GPU for rendering, a higher resolution display for design work, or more than 32GB of system memory should consider other models.

Maximum Memory Locked At 32GB

The platform supports a total of 32GB across two slots and this unit already populates that limit. No further RAM upgrades are possible, so the installed capacity is the final capacity for the life of the device.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 32 GB DDR3 option or look for a higher capacity?

32 GB DDR3 is the maximum memory this EliteBook 840 G3 supports, so no larger kit can be used.

What does the 2.60 GHz base and 3.40 GHz turbo mean for everyday work?

The dual-core i7-6600U runs at 2.60 GHz normally and can reach 3.40 GHz for short bursts, giving snappy response in office apps and web browsing.

The drive is described as M.2 NVMe PCIe — what does that cap in practice?

The 500 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD connects over PCIe lanes, delivering much faster boot and load times than older drive types.
