14-inch EliteBook for business users

The HP EliteBook 840 G3 is a 14.0-inch laptop running Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor at 2.60 GHz with 16GB DDR3 memory. It includes a new 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD and Intel HD Graphics 520 for everyday office tasks and light multitasking.

Suited to mobile professionals needing storage

This configuration suits users who want a silver business laptop with a large 2TB NVMe drive for local files and 16GB RAM for multiple applications. Buyers who need a touchscreen, a higher-resolution panel, discrete graphics or more than 32GB maximum memory should look elsewhere.

2TB NVMe PCIe SSD decides fit

The single specification that decides suitability is the 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD; it provides the capacity and speed for large datasets without external drives. Verify that your workflow can use the 1366 x 768 HD non-touch display and the 32GB memory ceiling before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Will the 14.0" HD 1366 x 768 display feel cramped when I have several windows open all day?

The 14.0-inch panel only shows 1366 by 768 pixels, so side-by-side windows will be tight and text may need scaling for comfort.

Does the Intel Core i7-6600U with Intel HD Graphics 520 run hot or loud during long work sessions?

The dual-core U-series chip and integrated graphics stay cool under typical office loads; fan noise only rises during sustained heavy tasks.

Do I need a separate DDR3 SO-DIMM kit to reach the 32 GB maximum, or are both slots already filled?

The laptop ships with 16 GB across two slots, so reaching 32 GB means replacing both modules rather than adding one.
