EliteBook 840 G4 for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 840 G4 is a 14.0" business laptop running Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7 7th Gen processor at 2.70GHz. It comes with 8GB of memory and a 128GB SSD that may range from 120GB to 128GB of usable space. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 drives the 1366 x 768 WXGA non-touch display.

Replacing an older clamshell with limited storage

This unit suits users moving from a slower hard-drive machine or a system with less than 8GB of RAM who need snappier boot times and smoother multitasking. The jump is worth it when daily workloads involve multiple browser tabs, office suites and video calls on a compact screen. Buyers who want more storage or a higher-resolution panel should look elsewhere.

Fits a light carry setup with room to expand

Two memory slots are present so the 8GB can be increased later, and the M.2 SSD bay accepts a larger drive when 128GB proves tight. Bluetooth is built in for wireless peripherals, while the lack of an optical drive keeps the chassis thin. The package includes a Windows 10 Pro recovery image for clean reinstalls.
