Business-grade 14-inch laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G4 is a 14.0-inch business laptop powered by a dual-core Intel Core i5-7300U processor running at 2.6 GHz. It comes with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 drives the 1366 x 768 non-touch display. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

Upgrade from older ultraportables

This unit replaces ageing 1366 x 768 machines limited to 4 GB or 8 GB RAM and mechanical drives. The jump is worth it when daily workloads involve multiple browser tabs, Office suites and VPN sessions that exceed the memory or storage speed of those older platforms. Grade B condition means visible cosmetic blemishes such as scratches.

Memory and storage headroom

The 16 GB DDR4 configuration comfortably handles typical business multitasking and light virtualisation. The 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD provides fast boot and application launch but will fill quickly with large local media libraries or offline sync folders. External drives or cloud storage become necessary once the internal volume is exhausted.
