Business laptop for office work

The HP EliteBook 840 G4 is a 14.0 inch laptop powered by a dual-core Intel Core i5-7300U processor running at 2.60 GHz. It comes with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB M.2 SATA SSD. The system ships with Windows 10 Pro installed and uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 620.

Suited for standard productivity, not heavy graphics

This configuration suits users who need a reliable machine for documents, email and web-based applications. The 1366 x 768 HD display and shared video memory limit its usefulness for colour-critical design, video editing or modern 3D workloads. Buyers who want a higher resolution screen or discrete graphics should look at something else.

Charger and battery included, no optical drive

The package provides the laptop, a charger and the installed battery so the unit is ready to run immediately. There is no optical drive included. A SIM card reader is present for mobile broadband options, and the full-size DisplayPort plus VGA output simplify connections to external monitors or projectors.

Questions about this item

What power adapter do I need to charge the USB 3.1 Type C port?

The included charger connects to the proprietary barrel port, not the USB 3.1 Type C connector, so no extra adapter is required for standard charging.

Can I keep using my VGA projector with the full-size VGA port?

Yes, the built-in VGA port supports direct connection to legacy projectors or monitors without an adapter.

How do I confirm the 512 GB M.2 SATA SSD is detected after first boot?

Open Settings > System > Storage and verify a 512 GB drive appears with Windows 10 Pro installed.
