Business-ready 14-inch laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G4 targets professionals who need a portable Windows machine for office applications, web browsing and video calls. Its dual-core i5-7300U processor at 2.6 GHz and 32 GB of DDR4 memory keep everyday multitasking responsive.

128 GB SATA SSD capacity

The M.2 drive boots Windows 10 Home quickly and holds core business documents and a modest media library. Heavy local data sets, large creative projects or virtual machines will exceed the available space and require external or cloud storage.

Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620

The shared-memory GPU drives the 1366 x 768 LED panel and a single external display via DisplayPort or VGA without a discrete graphics chip. Under typical office loads the fan stays quiet and the 45 W-class power adapter supplies ample headroom.

Questions about this item

Will my older VGA monitor work with the 840 G4's DisplayPort and VGA outputs?

Yes, the laptop provides one full-size DisplayPort and one VGA port, so a legacy VGA display can connect directly without an adapter.

How can I verify the i5-7300U is running at its 2.6 GHz base speed after setup?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab and confirm the processor shows Intel Core i5-7300U with a base frequency of 2.6 GHz under load.

Does the box include a DisplayPort cable for the full-size port, or must I buy one separately?

The package contains the laptop, charger and battery only; a DisplayPort cable is not included and must be purchased separately.
