Mobile workstation for business professionals

The HP EliteBook 840 G8 combines an Intel Core i7-1185G7 quad-core processor with 16 GB DDR4-3200 MHz memory and a 256 GB PCIe NVMe TLC SSD. A 14-inch FHD IPS anti-glare panel delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution at 400 nits brightness with 72% NTSC colour coverage. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Integrated graphics and single-slot memory

Intel Iris Xe Graphics uses shared system memory, leaving no discrete GPU to power or cool. The single 16 GB DDR4 module occupies one SO-DIMM slot, leaving the second free for a future capacity increase. Wi-Fi 6 (2x2) and Bluetooth 5 handle wireless connectivity without extra cards.

Steps up from dual-core ultraportables

The four-core i7-1185G7 with 12 MB L3 cache and 4.8 GHz turbo boost suits heavier multitasking and light content creation that dual-core models struggle with. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance or more than 16 GB memory out of the box should look elsewhere.
