14-inch touchscreen laptop for business users

The HP EliteBook 840 G8 combines a 14.0 inch Full HD touch display with an Intel Core i7 11th Gen processor running at a minimum 2.80GHz. It ships with 16GB of memory and a 1 TB SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed with a recovery image on the drive.

Replaces older non-touch business notebooks

The jump is worth it when you need direct screen interaction for presentations or annotation alongside the responsiveness of solid-state storage. Integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics handles everyday visual tasks without a discrete card. The two memory slots allow future expansion if workloads grow.

Limited by integrated graphics and port count

Intel Iris Xe Graphics shares system memory and is not suited for heavy 3D rendering or modern gaming titles. Only two USB ports are listed, so users connecting multiple peripherals may need a hub. The display tops out at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Questions about this item

What size M.2 slot does the 840 G8 use for its 1 TB drive?

The laptop ships with a 1 TB M.2 solid-state drive already installed in its single M.2 slot.

How is the 16 GB of memory configured across the two SODIMM slots?

The 16 GB is factory-installed across the two available SODIMM slots; adding more memory requires removing one or both existing modules.

When will the 1 TB M.2 SSD likely need replacement under typical workloads?

A modern 1 TB M.2 SSD in this class typically lasts several years; plan to replace it if SMART health drops below the manufacturer threshold.
