Business laptop for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 840 G8 is a 14.0 inch touchscreen notebook running Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i7 11th Gen processor with a minimum speed of 2.80GHz. It includes 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD that may range from 240GB to 256GB usable capacity. The Full HD display resolves at 1920 x 1080.

Suits users who need pen input

This unit fits people who want a touch-enabled screen for signing documents or sketching on the go, plus the durability associated with the EliteBook line. Buyers who need more than 8GB of memory for heavy multitasking or who require a dedicated graphics processor for 3D work should look elsewhere.

8GB soldered plus one open slot decides upgrade path

The system ships with 8GB installed across two total slots, so adding a single compatible module is the only way to increase capacity. If your workflow demands more memory than a single stick can provide, this chassis cannot meet that need.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 256 GB SSD or a larger 512 GB option for this EliteBook 840 G8?

This unit ships with a 256 GB SSD. The supplier notes actual capacity may range from 240 GB to 256 GB. A 512 GB model would be a separate SKU.

What does the 2.80 GHz minimum Core i7 speed mean for daily workloads?

The 11th Gen Intel Core i7 guarantees a 2.80 GHz base clock, so sustained tasks like compiling code or large spreadsheets run at that speed or higher.

Which display interface does the 14.0 inch 1920 x 1080 touchscreen use?

The built-in panel is a Full HD LED-backlit touchscreen running at 1920 x 1080. External video outputs are not detailed in the specifications.
