Refurbished 14-inch business laptop

This HP EliteBook 840 G8 is a refurbished 14-inch laptop graded A for excellent cosmetic condition. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5-1145G7 quad-core processor with 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB NVMe drive. The non-touch FHD display measures 14 inches at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Suits mobile professionals needing Thunderbolt 4

The two Thunderbolt 4 ports and HDMI 2.0 output support external displays and fast peripherals for office or remote work. Buyers who need a dedicated graphics card, a touchscreen, or more than 8 GB of memory should consider other configurations.

8 GB soldered memory limits upgrades

The system ships with 8 GB of shared memory used by both the CPU and the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. This capacity cannot be increased, so the laptop fits workflows that stay within that limit.

Questions about this item

How do I install extra storage in the HP EliteBook 840 G8, and which step is most often missed?

Remove the bottom cover, insert the M.2 NVMe module into the open slot, secure it with the tiny screw, then reinstall the cover; people often forget the screw and the drive is not detected.

What part of this EliteBook 840 G8 will need replacement first after heavy daily use?

The internal battery is the component that degrades fastest; after several hundred charge cycles run-time drops noticeably and a swap restores full mobility.

Which limit appears first when the Core i5-1145G7 runs sustained workloads on this 14-inch chassis?

Thermal throttling engages once the cooling system saturates, lowering clock speeds to keep temperatures safe during long renders or compiles.
