Refurbished EliteBook 840 G8 for business users

This refurbished HP EliteBook 840 G8 carries a Grade A cosmetic rating and ships with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit. It combines a quad-core Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor at 2.8 GHz with 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB NVMe drive. The 14.0-inch non-touch display shows 1920 x 1080 resolution in a thin-and-light chassis weighing 2.97 lbs.

Sustained load on integrated Iris Xe graphics

The Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory rather than using dedicated video RAM, so extended rendering or multi-monitor workloads draw from the same 16 GB pool as the CPU. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports support USB4, Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4 for docked setups, while the single HDMI 2.0 output drives an external screen without taxing the internal panel.

Verify port needs and storage headroom

Buyers who require more than two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports or a full-size SD reader should confirm the two Type-A and two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 connections cover their peripherals. The 256 GB NVMe drive may limit local data sets, so users with large offline libraries should plan for external or cloud storage. No optical drive is included.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the Core i7-1165G7 get during long work sessions?

The quad-core processor runs at 2.8 GHz with a 12 MB L3 cache; the thin 0.7-inch chassis relies on internal fans that spin up under sustained load, so expect audible airflow and warm surfaces near the hinge during all-day use.

Which dock or charger must I already own to power this laptop over USB-C?

The two Thunderbolt 4 ports support Power Delivery, so any USB-C charger or dock that delivers sufficient wattage over PD will power the unit without the bundled adapter.

Will my older USB-A 3.0 peripherals and HDMI 1.4 monitor work without adapters?

Yes — two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports accept USB 3.0 devices directly, and the HDMI 2.0 output is backward compatible with HDMI 1.4 displays at 1920 x 1080.
