14-inch touchscreen business laptop

The HP EliteBook 845 G11 combines a 14.0-inch WUXGA IPS touchscreen with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor. It ships with 16GB DDR5 5600 memory and a 512GB SSD running Windows 11 Pro. The integrated AMD Radeon 780M graphics handle everyday workloads and light creative tasks.

Wi-Fi 6E and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity limits

Wireless performance relies on Wi-Fi 6E 802.11ax, which requires a compatible router to reach its rated throughput. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports provide high-speed data and display output, but the total USB port count is only two, so docks or hubs are often needed for legacy peripherals. HDMI output is limited to a single port.

Soldered 16GB DDR5 decides upgrade path

Memory is not user-replaceable, fixing the system at 16GB for its lifetime. Buyers who anticipate heavier multitasking, virtual machines or large datasets should verify this capacity meets future needs before purchase. The 512GB SSD can be swapped, but the RAM cannot.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16 GB DDR5 5600 or the 512 GB SSD for my workload?

The laptop ships with both 16 GB DDR5 5600 memory and a 512 GB SSD already installed, so no choice between them is needed.

What does the 5.10 GHz turbo on the Ryzen 7 8840U mean once the EliteBook 845 G11 is running real workloads?

The processor can reach 5.10 GHz on one or two cores for short bursts; sustained speeds will be lower depending on thermals and the task.

What do the two Thunderbolt 4 ports cap in practice on this EliteBook 845 G11?

Each Thunderbolt 4 port supports up to 40 Gbps data, DisplayPort video and power delivery through a single USB-C connector.
