Business laptop with 14-inch WUXGA display

The HP EliteBook 845 G9 is a 14.0-inch Windows 11 Pro notebook built around the AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 6650U processor. It targets professionals who need a portable, non-touch clamshell for office applications, video calls and secure remote management. The silver chassis weighs 6.0000 and includes a webcam, 802.11ax WLAN and Bluetooth.

32 GB DDR5 memory and 256 GB SSD

The system ships with 32 GB of DDR5-4800 memory, expandable to 64 GB, giving ample headroom for heavy multitasking and large browser workloads. The 256 GB SSD provides fast boot and application launch, but capacity will fill quickly with local media libraries or virtual machines, so external storage or cloud sync becomes necessary for larger datasets.

Integrated Radeon graphics with quiet thermals

AMD Radeon graphics handle everyday visual tasks and external displays up to 40 Gbps via USB4 Type-C with DisplayPort 1.4. The cooling solution keeps the 6-core processor at its 2.90 GHz base and 4.50 GHz boost clocks without intrusive fan noise during typical office loads, and the integrated GPU avoids the power draw of a discrete card.

Questions about this item

Will my existing USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A peripherals work with the two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports on this EliteBook 845 G9?

Yes, the two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports run at 5 Gbps and are fully backward-compatible with your existing USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A devices.

How can I verify the AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 6650U is reaching its 4.50 GHz boost clock after setup?

Open Task Manager in Windows 11 Pro, select the Performance tab, choose CPU and watch the live frequency readout climb toward 4.50 GHz under load.

Does the box include a USB-C power adapter or must I buy one separately for the USB4 Type-C ports?

The 14.0" WUXGA EliteBook 845 G9 ships with its own AC power adapter that plugs into the dedicated barrel-style AC power input port, not the USB4 Type-C ports.
