HP EliteBook 850 G2 business laptop

The HP EliteBook 850 G2 is a 15.6-inch business laptop driven by an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor with a base frequency of 2.30 GHz and a turbo frequency of 2.90 GHz. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 128GB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. The 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display and Intel HD Graphics 5500 handle everyday office work. No operating system is installed.

Best for office users needing a ready-to-deploy

This unit suits buyers who want a silver EliteBook 850 G2 with a fresh 128GB SSD and 8GB of RAM ready for their own OS licence. It is not for buyers who need more than 128GB of internal storage or more than 16GB of total memory. It is also not for anyone who requires a touchscreen, a discrete GPU or a pre-loaded Windows licence.

Two SO-DIMM slots support up to 16GB DDR3

The laptop provides two memory slots with a maximum supported capacity of 16GB of DDR3. This ceiling decides whether the machine can handle heavier multitasking or must stay in lighter workloads.

Questions about this item

Does the 15.6" FHD display and 2.5" SATA SSD fit in a standard 15.6" laptop bag?

The 15.6" 1920 x 1080 panel and 2.5" SATA drive sit inside the EliteBook 850 G2 chassis, so any sleeve or bag sized for a 15.6" notebook will accommodate it.

What is the correct order for seating the DDR3 modules in the two memory slots?

Insert the 8GB DDR3 stick into the primary slot first, press firmly until the clips click, then add a second module in the empty slot if you want to reach the 16GB maximum.

When should the 128GB SSD be replaced to avoid capacity limits?

Plan to swap the 128GB SATA SSD for a larger 2.5" drive once free space drops below 20GB, which keeps the system responsive and leaves room for OS updates.
