HP EliteBook 850 G3 business laptop

This 15.6 inch FHD laptop runs on an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor at 2.60 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. It includes 32GB DDR4 memory and a new 128GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. The unit ships with no operating system installed.

Professionals needing maximum factory memory

The 32GB DDR4 configuration reaches the maximum supported capacity for this model, suiting users who run multiple business applications simultaneously. Buyers who want more storage capacity or a pre-installed Windows licence should consider other options.

128GB SATA SSD storage constraint

The solid-state drive provides 128GB of capacity over a SATA interface in a 2.5 inch form factor. This size and interface determine whether the drive meets your workload and upgrade plans.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the EliteBook 850 G3 get when the Core i7-6600U runs at 3.40 GHz all day?

The dual-core i7-6600U has a 15 W TDP, so the 850 G3 stays relatively quiet and cool under sustained load; fan noise rises only during prolonged Turbo at 3.40 GHz.

What must I already own to use this laptop since it ships with no operating system?

You need a Windows or Linux installation media and a valid licence key; the 128 GB SATA SSD is blank and ready for a fresh OS install.

Will my older SATA peripherals work with the 2.5" 128 GB drive bay in this EliteBook 850 G3?

Yes, the 2.5-inch SATA interface is backward-compatible, so existing SATA SSDs or hard drives drop in and function normally.
