EliteBook 850 G6 with i7-8665U

The HP EliteBook 850 G6 is a 15.6 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8665U quad-core processor at 1.9 GHz. It ships with 16 GB DDR4 memory, a 256 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD and Windows 11 Pro. The 1920 x 1080 FHD LED display is non-touch and the graphics run on Intel UHD shared memory.

Installation and typical issues

As a complete notebook there is no internal installation required; the unit arrives with the operating system preloaded and an appropriate AC adapter included. The Grade B condition means the chassis and LCD will show cosmetic blemishes such as scratches, which do not affect function but may disappoint buyers expecting pristine surfaces.

Thunderbolt 3 and storage limits

The single USB-C Thunderbolt 3 port supports external docks, displays and high-speed peripherals, yet only one such port is available so daisy-chaining multiple Thunderbolt devices is not possible. The 256 GB NVMe drive offers fast boot and application load times, though capacity may prove tight for users with large local media libraries or virtual-machine images.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the Intel Core i7-8665U is running at its 1.9 GHz base speed after Windows 11 Pro setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab and watch the CPU frequency settle at 1.9 GHz when the system is idle.

The listing mentions a Grade B LCD and cosmetic blemishes; what exactly ships in the box and what must I source myself?

You receive the laptop and an OEM AC adapter matched to its wattage; no dock, external drive or carrying case is included.

I see only one 256 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD option listed — how do I decide if that capacity fits my workload?

With 16 GB DDR4 and a 256 GB NVMe drive, the configuration suits office applications and light media; add external storage if you keep large project files locally.
