Business-grade laptop for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 850 G8 pairs an Intel Core i7 1185G7 quad-core processor at 3.0 GHz with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 2 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed. This configuration targets professionals who need responsive multitasking and ample local storage in a 15.6 inch form factor.

Silver chassis rated Grade B with versatile ports

Cosmetic condition is Grade B, meaning the silver body shows visible scratches or surface imperfections and keys may appear shiny, though no parts are cracked or overly worn. Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 port, one HDMI output, Intel Dual Band AX201 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2. A 1080p webcam is integrated above the non-touch FHD display.

Integrated graphics share system memory

The Intel Iris Xe GPU uses shared memory rather than dedicated video RAM, suiting office applications, video playback and light creative tasks. The LED-backlit 1920 x 1080 panel keeps power draw modest. No discrete graphics card is fitted, so the thermal solution handles only the processor and chipset under normal use.

Questions about this item

What does the Thunderbolt 4 interface actually deliver on this EliteBook 850 G8?

Two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports provide data, video and charging through a single connector, with the exact throughput determined by the cable and the device you attach.

What physical space does the 2 TB NVMe SSD occupy inside the chassis?

The drive uses an M.2 2280 slot; there is no 2.5-inch bay or second M.2 socket mentioned in the specifications.

Which step is often missed when reinstalling Windows 11 Pro on this laptop?

After the clean install you must download the Intel AX201 Wi-Fi and Iris Xe graphics drivers from HP's support site, otherwise wireless and display scaling will not work correctly.
