HP EliteBook 850 G7 15.6" business laptop

The HP EliteBook 850 G7 is a 15.6 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-10310U processor. It runs Windows 11 Pro on 8GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. The display is a non-touch 1920 x 1080 FHD IPS panel with LED backlight. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics uses shared system memory.

Suited for mobile office work.

This configuration suits professionals who need a reliable Windows 11 Pro machine for document editing, web browsing and video calls on the go. The quad-core processor and fast NVMe storage handle everyday multitasking smoothly. Buyers who need dedicated graphics performance for 3D rendering, video editing or gaming should look at a different system. The 8GB memory is soldered and not upgradeable, so users expecting to expand RAM later cannot do so.

8GB soldered DDR4 limits future upgrades

The single specification that decides fit is the 8GB soldered DDR4 memory. Because the memory cannot be increased, the laptop will remain at 8GB for its entire service life. If your workload already approaches that limit today, this unit will not grow with you. Choose a model with higher installed memory or user-accessible slots if you anticipate heavier demands.

Questions about this item

What speed does the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C interface actually reach on this EliteBook 850 G7?

The two USB 3.1 Type-C ports with Thunderbolt support handle data, video and charging through a single cable, letting you drive external displays or docks at Thunderbolt 3 speeds.

What physical space does the 512 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD occupy inside the chassis?

The drive uses a standard M.2 2280 slot, so it sits flat on the motherboard without a drive cage or caddy.

Which step do people skip when reinstalling Windows 11 Pro on this laptop?

After the clean install, the Intel AX201 Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 drivers must be added manually before the wireless hardware will appear in Device Manager.
