Built for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook 860 16 combines a 16.0" IPS WUXGA display with a 12-core Ultra 5-135U processor, 32GB DDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Pro, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 come standard. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports and HDMI 2.1 handle docking and external monitors. A fingerprint reader and backlit keyboard support secure, low-light work.

Suits daily productivity and light creative tasks

Integrated Intel Graphics and a 60Hz panel limit gaming, 3D rendering and colour-critical workflows. Buyers needing discrete GPU power, higher refresh rates or more than 512GB of internal storage should consider other configurations. The 3.9 lb chassis and 0.9 in profile favour desk-to-meeting mobility over ultra-light travel.

32GB DDR5 and 512GB SSD provide solid headroom

Multitasking across browser tabs, Office apps and video calls runs comfortably. Large media libraries, virtual machines or local AI workloads will exhaust the single 512GB drive quickly. Thunderbolt 4 allows fast external storage expansion when internal capacity runs out.

Questions about this item

What must the buyer already own to use the 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports for external displays?

A Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C monitor, or a Thunderbolt 4 dock with video outputs, plus matching cables. The laptop supplies two Thunderbolt 4 ports with DisplayPort Alt Mode.

Will the HDMI 2.1 port drive a 4K 60 Hz monitor that the buyer keeps from an older laptop?

Yes. The HDMI 2.1 output supports 4K at 60 Hz, so an existing 4K 60 Hz display will work without adapters.

How can the buyer confirm the 32 GB DDR5 memory is running at full speed after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, click Memory, and verify the speed shown matches the DDR5 rating for the Ultra 5-135U platform.
