14-inch Ultrabook for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook Folio 9470m is a 14-inch business Ultrabook built around an Intel Core i5-3437U dual-core processor running at 1.90 GHz with a turbo frequency of 2.90 GHz. It includes 8 GB of DDR3 memory and a 512 GB solid-state drive. The 14.0-inch HD anti-glare display offers a resolution of 1283 x 720 with LED backlighting. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Windows 10 Pro and fingerprint reader included

Windows 10 Professional 64-bit is installed and ready to use, providing enterprise-grade security and management features. A built-in fingerprint reader adds biometric sign-in and a secure chip supports hardware-based protection. The integrated webcam, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth handle video calls and wireless connectivity. No optical drive is fitted, keeping the chassis slim at 18.95 mm thin.

Check ports and display needs before ordering

The laptop provides VGA, DisplayPort, Ethernet and three USB 3.0 ports for external monitors, wired networks and peripherals. The screen is a non-touch HD panel at 1280 x 720 resolution, so buyers needing higher pixel density or touch input should verify suitability. Integrated graphics handle everyday business tasks but are not intended for demanding 3D workloads.

Questions about this item

Will the 512 GB SSD need replacing for more capacity?

The 512 GB SSD is the installed storage; adding capacity later would require a second drive if a free slot exists or an external drive.

What limits performance during sustained workloads on the i5-3437U?

The dual-core i5-3437U runs at 1.90 GHz base with a 2.90 GHz turbo, so extended heavy tasks hit the dual-core ceiling and thermal envelope first.

How much fan noise and heat appear when the 9470m runs all day?

The 18.95 mm ultrabook chassis uses integrated graphics and a low-power CPU, so daily use stays quiet with only warm surface temperatures under load.
